Haddock
Haddock is a common fish found across the whole of the North Atlantic ocean. Part of the Cod family of species, Haddock is a rich source of vitamin A, D and E, as well as the Omega-3 fatty acids, along being a great source for protein.
Haddock catches usually measure between 30 and 80 cm. in length, or about 3-10 kg. in weight. They can grow a lot larger, upwards of 100 cm. in length, though not very common. It has a very distinct dark line running along it’s sides. Haddock feed primarily on small invertebrates, though larger members of the species may occasionally consume fish such as herring, hake, lance and eels.
Haddock is not an oily fish and is considered a low fat source of food. |
