The graphs are broken down into four main catagories:
1. Dioxins - Polychlorinated dibenzodioxins (PCDDs), or simply dioxins, are a group of polyhalogenated compounds. Exposure to high levels of dioxins in humans causes a severe form of persistent acne, developmental abnormalities in children, thyroid disordres and damage to the immune system.
2. Marker PCB - Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are a class of organic compounds that are classified as persistent organic pollutants. Animals that eat PCB-contaminated food even for short periods of time suffer liver damage and may die.
3. Heavy Metals - A collection of toxic metals. Listed are Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg) and Lead (Pb). All accumilate in soft tissues and cause long-term harm.
4. Pesticides - A pesticide is any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any pest. Listed are DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane), Heptachlor, four HCH (Hexachlorocyclohexane) compounds, HCB (Hexachlorobenzene) and Endrin. |
